Career Overview: What do I do for a living?
A plumber installs and repairs pipes that supply water and gas to, as well as carry waste away from, homes and businesses. They also install plumbing fixtures such as bathtubs, showers, sinks, toilets and appliances (including dishwashers and washing machines).
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
RPL for access to the external integrated summative assessment: Accredited providers and approved workplaces must apply the internal assessment criteria specified in the related curriculum document to establish and confirm prior learning. A statement of result or certified work experience record must then be issued by the accredited provider or workplace to confirm prior learning.
RPL for access to the qualification: Accredited providers and approved workplaces may recognise prior learning against the relevant access requirements.

Plumbers lift heavy materials, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces. Some plumbers travel to worksites every day.
